Dendrite and IFSO publish 6th IFSO Global Registry Report

6th IFSO Global Registry Report The Sixth IFSO Global Registry Report (2021) has been published by Dendrite Clinical Systems, under the auspices of the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO). The publication reports data from 50 countries on over 507,290 operations including baseline obesity-related disease, operation types, operative outcomes and disease status after bariatric surgery.

Dendrite establishes National Bariatric Surgery Registry in Saudi Arabia

KSA bariatric registry logo Dendrite Clinical Systems and Professor Khalid Ali Al-Rubeaan, Director of the Research and Scientific Center at the Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Humanitarian City hospital, Saudi Arabia, have established the Saudi National Bariatric Surgery Registry (SNBR) in the country. The purpose of the Registry is to collect information on bariatric procedures in the country so researchers can use the data to improve outcomes.

Dendrite Clinical Systems and BSACI publish First BSACI Registry for Immunotherapy Report

BRIT Report Dendrite Clinical Systems and the British Society for Allergy & Clinical Immunology () have published the ‘First BSACI Registry for Immunotherapy Report (2020)’. The report is believed to be the first national registry report that has collected, analysed and documented the outcomes for patients receiving allergen immunotherapy to aeroallergens and venom, as well as omalizumab for chronic urticaria, anywhere in the world.

CoviDiab project seeking to provide evidence on relationship between COVID-19 and diabetes

An international team of scientists are investigating a possible curious bi-directional relationship between COVID-19 and diabetes. The researchers, who are part of the CoviDiab project, have hypothesised that the SARS-CoV-2 infection maybe be triggering the onset of diabetes, and they have established a global registry to track occurrence of events and are calling for doctors around the world to contribute reports of cases of new-onset diabetes associated with COVID-19.

Prestigious journal publishes paper on Dendrite/IFSO Global Registry Report

IFSO 2018 Dendrite Clinical Systems is pleased to announce the prestigious journal, Obesity Surgery, has published a paper highlighting international bariatric surgery practice from the 4th Dendrite/IFSO Global Registry Report. The paper, ‘Bariatric Surgery Worldwide: Baseline Demographic Description and One-Year Outcomes from the Fourth Dendrite/IFSO Global Registry Report 2018’, (Himpens et al. Obesity Surgery. March 2019. Volume 29, Issue 3, pp 782–795), stated that the registry has amalgamated data from 51 different countries, 14 of which provided data from their national registries. Data were available from 394,431 individual records including:

72,645 Roux en Y gastric bypass operations (38.2%)
87,467 sleeve gastrectomy operations (46.0%)
14,516 one anastomosis gastric bypass procedures (7.6%) and;
9,534 gastric banding operations (5.0%)

The Dendrite/IFSO Global Registry Report is the culmination of years of research and analyses from the IFSO Global Registry Project, which was established in January 2014 to demonstrate that it is possible to merge and analyse bariatric and metabolic surgical data from different countries and centres. The registry has been running on Dendrite's Intellect Web Software Platform for the last six years.
